File under Archaic laws we almost can’t believe still exist:

Did you know that Pennsylvania election laws haven’t been comprehensively updated since 1937? Many people didn’t have electricity, so the PA election code requires that a lantern be provided at every polling place. While our legislators have ensured light, they have not updated the law to address some modern voting issues or new court rulings, which results in conflicting requirements and outdated directives.

The Art of Democracy

Presented by Keystone Progress Education Fund and Casey Droege Cultural Productions.

Featuring work by 13 distinguished artists, as well as the "Our Bodies, Our Resistance" portfolio by the Justseeds Artists' Cooperative .

This exhibit explores what a healthy democracy should look like, especially in this year when there are important elections, and how our current system impacts censorship, reproductive justice/abortion access, workers' rights, and economic justice.

Thanks to all of the artists, organizers, attendees, and supporters for making the first annual Art of Democracy a great success. We're excited to expand the program in 2024 with even more art, conversations, events, and simple steps to fight for our democracy!
